It's all about implementation
A Business Problem Solution Plan doesn't have any benefit if it never becomes
more than just Good Intentions. It's the same with any plan. Unless you're like
one fellow I know who said that his problem solution strategy was to
Aggressively Wait For Things To Get Better.
But you already know all this. And we both know that actually implementing your
change plan is not as easy as you might hope. The reality is that there is a
HUGE gap between good ideas, good intentions and IMPLEMENTATION.
Which leads me to a question that I frequently get asked. If I decided to
employ BTF Management Consultants, how would it work and what would it cost?
The short answer is that most BTF consulting clients invest between
$25,000-$50,000 for services. For this amount the client is guaranteed
satisfaction, project completion, and a 200%+ROI.
Here's what the scope of a typical project looks like:
ANALYSIS: We start the process of
documenting your current status with a Due Diligence List of basic information
about your company requesting current financial conditions and past histories.
Through a series of telephone conversations BTF will bring your business
operations into a crystal clear focus. Always maintaining a basic business mind
set. Customer Satisfaction, Profitable Operations and the Protection of Assets.
As a part of this analysis we will address marketing, sales, productivity,
growth, competition, human resources, teamwork, and the reasons why there is
resistance to change. BTF will be gathering information until BTF feels
confident and comfortable with the accuracy of the current status and history.
At this point the project status is defined and the project goal is stated with
bench marks to measure success. A Project Plan is produced presenting a outline
with time schedule of what BTF proposes. The client approval is required to
proceed. A Contract for Services is prepared and signed by BTF as well as the
client stating the agreement to Project Goal, Cost, and Time schedule.
CREATE RECOMMENDATIONS: A well
designed recommendation communicates the problem, current status, proposal,
costs, and benefits in a manner that is both accurate and completely
understood. The recommendation will serve as a runway for the follow-up
activities as well as implementation. The recommendation is approved by client
signature.
CREATE DETAILED PROCEDURES FOR CHANGE
IMPLEMENTATION: The Change Procedure lays out the step by step
implementation process and detailed analysis of the effects. The procedure
include a forecast of possible benefits and negative impacts sufficient to
prevent surprises, including a discussion of future pitfalls and impacts from
the change implementation. Only when both BTF and you are confident of the
results will action be taken. The approval by signature of the client is the
only authorization for BTF to take action and implement the recommendation.
CREATE SUMMARY REPORT: Once the
implementation is completed a report documenting the actual recommendation
installation effects, benefits, and costs. This documents what actually
occurred versus the proposal. The summary report is approved by the client
signature as accurate. When all recommendations are completed and installed the
project termination process is initiated.
CREATE FINAL SUMMARY REPORT: A
final report is prepared documenting in short format the recommendations,
procedures, and summary reports with actual benefits as measured by the
contract for services. The final summary report is approved and signed by the
client
REQUEST LETTER OF APPROVAL: The
client is requested to write a memo to BTF stating, Project completion, Client
satisfaction, and 200%+ROI for all project costs. This step is required for BTF
to Bill the client. BTF takes all the risk and is paid for performance only.
The document flow is as follows:
1.Data gathering and analysis with presentation.
2. Project Plan—signed and approved by client.
3. Contract for Services-- signed and approved by client.
4. Recommendation-- signed and approved by client.
5. Procedure-- signed and approved by client.
6. Summary Report-- signed and approved by client.
7. Final Summary Report-- signed and approved by client.
8. Client Approval Letter-- signed and approved by client.
9. BTF Billing
The gap between good ideas, good intentions and IMPLEMENTATION can be large.
Especially if you work in a smaller firm or as a owner operator it can be
extremely difficult to solve and implement solutions. Together the benefits of
innovative solutions installed with experience and education can reap huge
rewards. The consultant acts as firewall during the change process.
